Reviews and Ratings
The hotel has an amazing location right in the heart of the old city of Cartagena, offering a true colonial experience. However, the rooms are not up to standard, feeling more like a budget stay than a luxury escape. The friendly staff tries hard to uphold the hotel's reputation, but there are some improvements to be made.
My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. On one hand, the location was superb, right by the clock tower, but this also meant dealing with constant noise. The rooms, although delivered late in the afternoon, were spacious, but unfortunately, the presence of mold smell from the AC due to lack of proper cleaning wasn't pleasant. The service provided was a mix of professional and disappointing experiences, with helpful staff but a notable lack of courtesy from a certain individual named Luis Hernandez. The dining options, while satisfactory, lacked variety, making it feel repetitive. The facilities were decent, but some improvements are needed.
Despite some noise issues from inconsiderate guests and small rooms with outdated furniture and dirty curtains, the hotel offers many positives such as superb location near the port and vibrant plaza, helpful staff, and excelling in-house dining experience with home-grown products.
